Bucky Diary Mar 2019

The Journey Begins

Our Van Bucky finally left Perth.

We raced down to Albany via Katanning to have lunch with Sara's Brother at the refurbished flour mill that is now the Dome during the day and a restaurant/bar at night (Very flash for a country town)  We then visited some friends in the evening at Albany and then we camped the night, at a road sliding found on WikiCamps.  We drove in at night and camped next to a Wicker camper (Colourful Hire Van).  Got up at 4am and drove to Middleton Beach in Albany and found a free hot shower near the beach at 4:20am.  Then had a quick coffee at Emu point with another good friend of ours.

Left Albany at lunch time and drove to Munglinup Roadhouse and set down for the night.  For a $2 donation got a hot shower and watched a Netflix movie in the van, before falling asleep.

Up at 6am and went for a walk around the town, quick coffee and back in the van to make our way to Esperance.  Seems caravan sites are booked out.  So we rang considering we are totally self sufficient and got an unpowered site at Esperance Bay Holiday Park,  Booked for three nights at $30 per night.  We caught up with some friends from Perth who are camping in their caravan on Thursday night.  Played a card game 'May I', which Sara won!

Sara spoke to a lady at Caravan site, who had just returned from Tassie and she advised us to book our ferry to Tasmania as soon as possible, as it fills up quick.  Well looked at website and hardly any spots left for campervans.  But managed to get a booking for the 24th March and will spend about a month in Tassie.

We caught some fish.  Was nice setting up for a little while to enjoy the sea breeze.  May come back here to spend more time in this lovely corner of W.A.  Rested and ready for the Nullarbor.
